1. AI Xplaind part 1.1

Blog 1: Artificial Intelligence Xplaind, Part 1.1

As the title, starting the blog, before beginning, my sincere gratitude to all the Super Senior Staff Poornima College of Engineering Rahul Singhi Sir, Managing Director Poornima Group, Prof. Mahesh Bundele Sir, Prof. Surendra Kumar Yadav Sir, Prof Manish Dubey Sir , Department of Computer Engineering,

and Prof Rajendra M Sonar, Professor and Head, SOM Management School, IIT Bombay..he was the founder and director of my first job after MTech Artificial Intelligence, iKen Solutions, AI startup incubation of IIT Bombay and also the CEO, Dr. Siddharth Goel, his genuine concern towards not only work, but overall mentoring, growth and wellbeing of employees, including perks like 3 months advance salaries, relaxation of leaves and other benefits.
Startup culture no doubt depends on employees, but it is geared by the Senior leadership who not only mean work but great deal of energy, empathy to address all queries, roadblocks and related concerns. I also always remember my first Project Manager, Mr. Devesh, a thoroughly seasoned professional with all wit and grit to determine the actuality of a programme, algorithm, project, and i truly appreciate the clarity of thought he depicted in group activities/discussions.

My reverence for my school and College teachers, both  Bachelor's (Engineering) Information Technology Medi Caps Institute of Technology and Management, Indore ...Prof Rekha Jain Ma'am, Prof Sunil K Somani Sir, Prof Jitendra Bhinwal and many more happy faces with awesome knowledge... M.Tech Artificial Intelligence from UPES Dehradun.. astounding Faculties namely Prof Neelu Ahuja Ma'am , Prof Monit Kapoor, Prof Sunil Kumar Sir, Prof Pankaj Badoni Sir, Prof Venkatadiri..

.and other institutions faculties, Prof Anurag Seetha(late)- Microsoft Windows Core Member and AICECT Director , Mr. Bindu Madhav, CEO, Prof. Pant, and of course IIM Indore faculties, Academic Associates, Research Scholars, Ms. Preeti Sharma (soon Dr.) , Research Scholar IIM Kashipur and my colleague since 2015, as Academic Associate @ IIM Indore...Prof Vaibhav Bhamoriya Senior Professor Rural Marketing and Analytics, IIM Kashipur and many many college and school times teachers, whose learnings and teaching are bearing fruits now.

So , ganapati bappa morya..!!

Artificial Intelligence, by thinking, arrived in America, late 1950s,  when John McCarthy and Marwin Minsky coined the term "Artificial Intelligence" in Dartmouth Conference, they defined AI as a system, which could simulate human behaviour, brain activities and they had the entire top floor of the Dartmouth Math Department to themselves, and most weekdays they would meet at the main math classroom where someone might lead a discussion focusing on his ideas, or more frequently, a general discussion would be held
So if we dig into this behaviour, we can say that in order to inculcate research, not only a Basic skills set is required to initiate, but, a free, dedicated mind set leads to better innovative ideas.

Along with these vision for AI, they developed LISP language (LISt Processing) ,This language is totally AI, based on C language. idea of expert systems, deductive and inductive reasoning,

Growth of Artificial Intelligence till 2000(copied)
So the basic point is that the growth of Artificial Intelligence depended on the advances in Computer design, architecture and computation capabilities. Supportive is that, according to Moore's law::  the observation that the number of transistors in a dense integrated circuit doubles about every two years. Moore's law is an observation and projection of a historical trend.
So starting from 1965, this observation/ hypothesis became true...!! And this reduction in size, more compact ICs and all systems closer to each other, number of buses for communication to other devices also decreased, along with innovative designs of ICs and Personal Computers.
So these developments, coupled with increasing interest in Computer Engineering, of scientists of different sectors, be it maths or Statistics or medical field, and interdisciplinary research.
One of the first softwares of AI are Expert Systems, followed by Chinese Room Experiment and the Mammoth IBM's Deep Blue software. It was programmed to defeat the Chess Champion Gary Kasparov.... this feat was the building stone of AI, along with others, to believe in power of computers and more importantly Artificial Intelligence!!

Coming to Today's AI, there are so many applications that we have ever used.. and list is always growing... be it speech based search or arriving at a logical conclusion after considering all aspects... consulting a doctor and his services, buying most future profitable shares...and what not.

Ok, so this is the introduction of Artificial Intelligence...
Hope you enjoyed reading...and inculcate it in your learning...

Now we start our journey of learning, which is mutual, students feel free to share their earliest technical education/ first PC you had/ as I gain by sharing my thoughts, so can you...

In next blog, I'll try covering AI domains and how it's capturing anyone, anything, knowingly or unknowingly... Any citizen of any country, of any profession, any Level of experience. ... That's a generalized statement, though,
But not totally false..

Happy by gaining knowledge

Regards,
Snehal Moghe
